About Red and Blue
Affectionate, inquisitive, intelligent, fun loving little gremlin!
Red is wild at heart. He loves a good run, to hunt bugs, bones and his home made den- which he has decorated with his favourite things!
He also loves to play with his toys and wrestle on his comfy bed!
He walks well on lead and learns rapidly. He does require a person who understands that an unattended tasty treat will likely be eaten by an opportunistic red dog! He really does love his food!
We are seeking an adopter who has experience with dingoes, (or is keen to learn) or similar personality types, (e.g Arctic breeds), who will exercise and feed him appropriately and make sure he is safe and secure at all times. Homeless hounds animal rescue will support his adopter in any way necessary and is committed to these beautiful native dogs.
Red and his brother Blue are available as a pair. See Blue's description here: http://www.petrescue.com.au/listings/330775
As a person who has lived with many many dogs, these boys are among my all time favourites. They are loyal, intelligent, cheeky and very, very endearing. Its a privilege to be loved by a dingo dog and a rare experience to be loved so intensely. They aren't wild but they aren't domestic dogs either- they are very different and possess a unique in the moment type of happiness, which is quite contagious!
Medical notes
Red is desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and up to date with parasite control.
Information on the legalities of keeping a dingo can be found on the DEPI website. In Victoria and NSW: keeping of hybrid animals does not require a wildlife licence but they are required to be registered and managed as dogs under the Domestic Animals Act 1994 and local laws.
