About Monty
Hi, my name is Monty and I am a good looking boy who turns 2 on the 15th of \ March next year.
As I have come from a pound situation not much is known about me.
I am a friendly happy dog and very cute. As I was at the pound for 3 months I was simply THRILLED to be out of there and am lapping up all the attention I can muster up.
I have been going for runs with Linda's female dogs and some of the rescue girls who I behave very well with. I don't like male dogs very much which is common with us boys.
I'm not too bad on the lead, I know how to sit and take food gently.
I'm presently staying with June & Rocky so he can do some obedience training with me. I'm still able to be adopted but whoever I go to has to take me to obedience school.
I was tested today by Trish Harris of FourPaws K9 Training who found me to be rather submissive to touch and pressure, especially if clipping on a lead or trying to handle me. Trish suspects some rough handling by my previous owner. But I am young and very eager to please and just love people.
I would suit an active family or couple who are willing to exercise and train me. I have not been tested around cats or other small animals.
Adoption details
If you think you can offer me a forever home please go to
http://www.staffordrescuevictoria.org.au/index.php/adoption-forms-6
and fill out the Adoption Request Form. You will receive an email acknowledgement within 3 days. If you do not receive any further contact after this please do not be discouraged. It just means that a suitable application was received before yours. We encourage you to contact Jan: jan.hutton@optusnet.com.au every 2-3 weeks to show you are still interested in adopting. As we will already have your form on file it will fast track the process when a suitable dog does become available.
Adopt one of our dogs and we are there for you for the rest of the dog's life. If you find you and the dog are not suited it is a condition of sale that the dog comes back to Stafford Rescue.
