About Ripley ~ Rehomed 23/11/2014
Ripley is a gorgeous 11 week old staffy x puppy with eyes that will melt your heart! Ripley has a cute wrinkly forehead and big black eyes and he has his Please-Cuddle-Me look tuned to fine art. Ripley loves cuddles and being carried around - he loves to smother you with puppy kisses. Ripley loves to lay on his back for a belly tickle, and he wags his tail so hard it wiggles his whole body.
Ripley is very dog social - in foster care he has 4 dogs of all sizes and ages to play with and he gets on well with them all. He would suit a furever home with an existing playful adult dog who can show him the ropes and be a great role model for him as he grows. Ripley is in foster care with 6 cats and he is friendly with them. He is learning that cats aren’t play toys and that cats rule the house - if one of the cats swat at him, he will leave them alone.
Ripley loves soft toys and will run around the house with them like they are the best prize ever! He also loves playing chasings and zooming around the yard with the other dogs.
Ripley is too little to go out walking yet, however he is a very alert and friendly pup so when he's big enough he will enjoy social outings with an active outdoorsy family. Ripley sleeps the whole night through inside with the other dogs, he is new to toilet training so his new family will need to continue to teach him good toileting habits.
Ripley is treat focused which will help with training as he grows - we always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training. We are unsure what other breed mixes Ripley has in him, so it's hard predict his adult height - but with his rich orange colouring and character filled wrinkly forehead there may be Ridgeback in his mix, so it's possible he'll be taller than medium… only time will tell!
Ripley is an inside dog and needs to be allowed inside when his family is home – he must sleep inside at night even when older. Dogs and puppies enjoy being part of the family and get comfort from being inside with their humans. Being a social puppy he would not suit being left alone for long periods of time.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
