About Ollie (On trial 13/12/14~ purebred yellow Labrador
Oliver, nicknamed "Ollie", is a super cuddly, 6 year old, purebred Labrador Retriever. He has the most beautiful personality you will ever meet. He is such a loving sweet boy; he wags his tail constantly from dawn to dusk. He loves nothing more than a cuddle and to be a part of a family. Therefore he would be best suited to a family that is prepared to share their home with him both inside and out. Ollie loves nothing more than to be inside with the family and will sit at the back door facing in with sad looking eyes until you let him in. Once inside Ollie will snuggle and sleep at your feet. He is very well housetrained and will go to the toilet when asked when taken outside. He has not had any accidents inside my home.
Ollie loves to go for walks and loves to sniff everything. He is super friendly! He loves to say hello to all dogs he sees, he just needs to be reminded that not all dogs like to be sniffed. He is very strong on the lead and therefore is best walked by a teen or adult as he strength may pull over a child or elderly person.
Ollie loves food just as much as he loves people. He is not fussy with his food. He will eat anything and everything. Even cabbage, carrots and cucumbers. Ollie gets very excited when he sees his food bowl and tends to jump in excitement so further training is recommended to remind him to sit and wait for his food. Since he loves food so much, his owners will need to be careful not to overfeed him and special attention in regards to his diet must be made.
Ollie is great with kids! He loves to play ball and play chase. He is best suited to a family with children over the age of 8 as he is a very strong boy and may knock over littler ones when he gets excited. Being a Labrador he also loves water! Although not a swimmer he loves to cool down under a hose or go for a dip in the lake.
Ollie is such a big boy with a big heart. He would love to be a part of a family that will spoil him with love and attention. He is a real people dog and therefore would be best suited to a family where not everyone works full time. He loves other dogs and would love the companionship of another dog in his new home.
For more information or to meet Ollie, please contact his foster carer Yvonne via email to tooeasyy62@yahoo.com.au. Ollie is in foster care in Swansea, NSW (Lake Macquarie, south of Newcastle). He is not available for adoption interstate.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
