About Tilly (On Trial 18/11/14)
Introducing the gorgeous Tilly; she is a purebred black Labrador who will be celebrating her 1st birthday on the 10th December 2014. Maybe you could give her the greatest birthday present imaginable – a forever home.
Tilly wants nothing more than to be part of a family, so she can give you all of her love. She loves meeting new friends and gets along well with other dogs. Currently she is in care with a 4 year old lab and has been well socialised with other dogs. Tilly is yet to interact with cats, although she has met chickens and was not bothered with.
Tilly LOVES water and very much enjoys her days at the beach or sitting in her shell pool. She has excellent recall and will wait for you when walking - she always looks back to see where you are so she doesn’t venture too far.
Tilly is hoping for a family that will not leave her alone a lot or will have a playmate ready and waiting for her. She is very obedient and very affectionate, but her excitement of seeing you would probably not make her suited to small children as in her excitement she could love them too much. As an alone dog she will need someone who can give her lots of attention and exercise.
She adores company and will quite happily follow you wherever you may go - however she has also learnt to sit and stay when required. Her love for you makes her tail wag so much that her butt does as well – it’s her most beautiful trait and one that will you never forget when you see it!
Tilly is a very special girl and would be most suited to a family environment or to an active couple. She will require access to water as she loves it so much but this can be the lake, beach or shell pool. Further training would be an advantage to her - and i believe she will learn very quickly as all she wants to do is please you.
For more information or to meet Tilly please phone foster carer Kim by email kim_daz@hotmail.com or 0425 353 662. Tilly’s $500 adoption fee includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
