About Ziggy ~ On Trial 16/1/2015
Meet Ziggy, he is a fabulous, smart and entertaining 8 month old, male, Kelpie x Cattle dog who makes me laugh daily. I think if he was human he would be a comedian. He has so much love and passion for life he would do anything for a pat, a touch or a treat! He can be bouncing around like crazy but if you put your hand on him to give him a slow massage he freezes - not a movement until you stop. His eyes will flutter and his legs will go weak, he entertains me for hours!
Ziggy came into foster care with his foster sister Zarli and looked after her when she was scared. Ziggy loves other dogs of all ages and sizes. He is in foster care with many dogs and he loves to play with them all day. Ziggy loves the water and playing in the clam pool on a hot summer day. If you are a beach lover then Ziggy would be very happy to tag along with you.
Ziggy loves to be in the company of people and dogs he knows and trusts. He also loves toys and will chase a toy the length of the garden when thrown. We have a little count down and his face just beams with excitement and then he leaps all the way to the toy. He is great at bringing the toy back to you as long as his foster sister doesn't hide it under the tree first.
His other favourite part of the day is when we settle in the evening to watch TV. He loves being inside with his humans and lying down watching TV with us. He would happily curl up at your feet or on top of you. He is just in heaven when inside and around people.
Our bedtime ritual consists of going outside to the toilet which he has learned very well - he goes when I say "toilet" most of the time. He then sits at the cupboard waiting for his dental stick. \ I sit with him and Zarli whilst they have their bedtime snack then its cuddle time for 5 minutes. He sits as still as a stone when you pat him, it's like he's scared to move in case you stop! Then its lights out and you won't hear a peep out of him until morning.
Ziggy is extremely easy to train. He is smart, very willing and loves to please. His would be best suited with children over the age of 10 as he may knock smaller children over.
He knows not to jump on the sofa but if you choose to have him on your sofa he will sit there next to you or on your lap all day and have pats and cuddles. He’s eyes just scream heaven when he is near you.
Ziggy has buckets of personality and will make the right person the perfect companion. He would best suit a home where he will be part of the family and be allowed inside especially in the evenings and at night. He will need at least an hour walk daily and mental stimulation such as training and toys. His perfect owners would be an active person, couple or family that would include him in activities and give him the love and exercise he needs and adores.
For more information or to meet Ziggy please phone foster carer Lisa on 0414980929 or email lisajoallen@hotmail.com. Ziggy is in foster care in Lisarow, NSW (Central Coast). Lisa travels to North Sydney regularly so can bring Ziggy for meetings in Sydney.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
