About Genevieve
Genevieve (Vieve for short!) fell on very hard times, before coming to us from a country pound. She had a very serious leg wound that took quite some time to treat and heal and she was terribly malnourished, as well as being quite fearful.
This is not a sad story though, Vieve's leg has healed beautifully and although she will occasionally lift or carry her leg out of habit, you can see when she does zoomies, that it is back to full function and she's been given the all clear by the vet!
Vieve has put on weight and gained much needed condition, her coat is now shiny and her eyes sparkle! She has fitted in very well in her foster home with another similar size, calm, friendly dog, a 7yo boy and a teenager. Vieve can still startle quite easily and she can be more wary of men than women, but once she's comfortable with you, all she wants is love and chin scratches and belly rubs!
Vieve would be best suited to a home without cats or other small animals. She has been in care with cats and chickens, but she's never alone with them and we don't completely trust that she only has friendly intentions, so a home with another friendly dog, or as an only pet will be best for our gorgeous girl.
Vieve is a very good 'doorbell', she has a commanding bark that she sounds when someone approaches her home, but doesn't bark for no reason.
Vievie is looking for a mostly indoor home where she will be a treasured member of the family. She would benefit from a basic training course and is quite strong on a lead, but is learning to walk quite well on a halti.
Genevieve can be a little shy and cautious to begin with, but she has a heart of gold and is so looking forward to having a family and home of her own, where she can feel safe and loved!
Vieve is in care in Vermont
Medical notes
Genevieve goes to her new home desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and flea and worm treated.
