About Lulu
Lex and Lulu are a playful, gentle and affectionate pair. They cannot be separated under any circumstances. As such the adoption fee has been halved.
Other dogs
Yes. Both can be rather timid initially but tend to warm up to new friends and are then very friendly.
Cats
No
Kids
Yes. Gentle and playful with the occasion kiss, or lick. But as both dogs do not like loud noises or rough play we recommend children of primary school age and older.
Size
Both 15 kgs
Exercise requirements
Medium. Lex is slightly more playful then Lulu but both love their walks in the park. They will be fine if you miss a day as long as they have room to play in the back yard.
Escape artist
No
Tolerance to being alone
As these dogs are affectionate and people orientated preference will be given to homes where someone is about more often than not. However, if you work full time they will keep each other company.
Toilet trained
Yes
Likes
Both like affection, human company and sniffing around the park. They will also play and chase each other. Lex tends to play fetch and entertain himself with his beloved red ball. Squeaky toys are also a favourite. Lulu will sit on your lap, curl up and go to sleep. She also loves her trips to the park. The beach is a favourite place to visit.
Dislikes
Lulu is very scared of storms, heavy rain, wind and thunder. While she is very affectionate she does not like to be continually handled or played with and will retire to a quiet place when she has had enough. Both dogs do not like loud noises, raised voices or being ignored.
Ideal home
Active seniors or families with older kids who want companion dogs as an integral part of the household. You will need to have plenty of time for the dogs and want to exercise them regularly. They will also need a relatively good size back yard. Access to the beach or water will be a plus.
Generally
This is a rare opportunity to adopt two dogs that have lovely gentle natures and are also proven to be very healthy. They are alert dogs but not nuisance barkers plus are smart and obedient.
Lex and Lulu do drop a normal amount of fur. They are not ''hypoallergenic'' dogs and are not suitable for people allergic to dog fur even thought they are a poodle mix.

Adoption details
We strongly recommend you read the dogs' profile carefully as everything we know about the dog/s is listed.
If you are interested in a dog we invite you to submit an application form so we can learn more about your circumstances. This is to ensure we match the right dog to the best home. (one form per family - not per dog) http://www.dogadoption.org.au/adoption---expression-of-interest.html
This is for the benefit of both the dog and the potential new owner/s. It also saves time and uses limited resources more effectively.
Once the essential criteria is confirmed we put you in touch with the carer for a more detailed chat with a view of meeting the dog/s.
If you decide to proceed with the adoption we make a time for a house check.
The adoption fee is then paid (there is a 2 week cooling off period.) Please note we do not usually allow trials.
Foster carers are also able to adopt foster dogs once approved.
