About Zarli ~ kelpie girl (foster fail 1/5/15)
Meet Zarli, a gorgeous 9 month old female Kelpie cross. She has the most adorable eyes and her face could melt a thousand hearts. If she wants anything she will come and sit at your feet and then looks up at you with her soulful beautiful eyes. Who can resist her puppy head tilt?
Zarli can initially be shy when meeting new people but once she has your trust she has buckets of love to give. She will sit at your feet for hours and she is always extremely happy to be sitting on your knee having a cuddle or belly stroke - that's her favourite.
Zarli enjoys time in the garden with toys and balls. She loves to play chase and fetch with her toys and she will bring them back to you. She enjoys settling in for the evening to watch TV and loves to feel safe in your presence so she can sleep and dream.
Zarli is great at getting into routines quickly. At bed time she runs to her bed, she gets a treat and cuddle and then she sleeps solidly in the laundry on a cosy bed. She would be happy to sleep in your room or in the lounge-room if that's on offer. Zarli is extremely smart, and loves to please. Zarli would be best in a home with an active couple and older children who can spend time playing with her and taking her on outings. She thrives having the company of another dog to romp around with. Zarli is in foster care with many dogs, she has been with up to 20 dogs at once and she loves playing with dogs of all sizes and ages. She builds strong bonds with other dogs and gains confidence from them.
Her recall is fantastic and she will sit on command, however this has only been tested in enclosed spaces, so more off-lead training would be required. Being a young dog she can be a cheeky puppy, but with love and training she will outgrow this. She is toilet trained so will happily spend a lot of time indoors with her family when they are home.
Zarli will make a perfect companion where she is part of the family and be allowed inside especially in the evenings and at night. She would do extremely well on a property. If in a suburban house she will need at least an hours walk daily with extra mental stimulation as she has a lot of energy and is very clever so an active person or couple will adore her.
For more information or to meet Zarli please phone foster carer Lisa on 0414980929 or email lisajoallen@hotmail.com. Zarli is in foster care in Lisarow, NSW (Central Coast). Lisa travels to North Sydney regularly so can bring Zarli for meetings in Sydney.
Zarli’s $400 adoption fee includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
