About Abbie ~ Foxy x (On Trial 3/12/14)
Abbie is a cute little female, Foxy x (more Jack Russell size), 8 months old. She is house trained. She is sweet and affectionate and love cuddles. She loves to play with the other three dogs here and is super dooper friendly with them. Abbie doesn't take any interest in our cat and just seems to mind her own business when she is around.
She is young and playful and needs to burn off all that energy by playing, training and going for walks. She walks nicely on lead and will sit when asked. She is a quick learner and because she's still a puppy, further training is essential.
She absolutely loves food of any kind and I will eat hers quickly then try help herself to the other dog's food. So I simply feed her separately and it's no problem.
During the day, Abbie is happy to be outside to relax and play with the other dogs. Before it gets dark we let her come inside to enjoy being with us. When it's bedtime she goes to sleep in a nice big crate inside.
Abbie has a short, easy care coat which just needs brushing once a week and a bath every 2-4 weeks.
Abbie would make a great family pet or would easily suit a couple or single. She needs to be allowed inside, at least when people are home, and to sleep inside. If everyone works full time she would need a doggie friend to live with to keep her company.
For more information or to meet Abbie, please contact her foster carer Erin by email erin.murnane@hotmail.com or phone 0413795300 (if no answer, send a text). Abbie is in foster care in Edgeworth, NSW (Lake Macquarie, south of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Abbie's adoption fee is only $400 and includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
