About Bella ~ On Trial 24/1/15
Bella is a happy-go-lucky 5 year old Cattle Dog x Kelpie. Bella has a beaming smile and a friendly nature that will win your heart at Hello! Bella has a charming personality in a class of her own – she is a fun loving bundle of joy who has the ability to turn any frown upside down with her antics!
You’d be forgiven for thinking Bella is much younger than 5 years as she is playful and cheeky and always ready for a game. Bella plays so well with her humans and she loves to play with her ball or tug-o-war. She will happily keep herself amused with her ball whilst you go out. When you get home she is so happy to see you – she is such a sweet girl with so much love to give and receive.
Bella is well and truly out of puppy stage so she is very obedient – she is eager to please you and she has great manners. She always comes when called and when she wants more pats she’ll gently put her paw onto your lap as if to say “please can I have more?” She would happily accept pats all day if they were on offer. \
Bella is treat and reward focused and being a cattle dog x kelpie mix she is very clever too. She loves her daily walks and walks very well on a lead. After a long walk, she gently nudges her foster mum’s leg with her head and looks up with a smiley face, as if to say “Thank You”.
Bella can be a little quiet when meeting many new people, however once she will become your very best friend soon after. Bella is dog and child friendly and being slightly older she will be less likely to knock children over during play. Bella loves to be brushed – she gets so excited to see the brush and she will sit in one spot perfectly getting groomed and pampered.
Bella would be best suited to a forever home where she can be inside with the family when they are home to have family time. Bella currently sleeps the whole night through in her foster family’s cosy sunroom, so if you have a warm cosy spot inside she will happily settle down for the night there. Dogs and puppies enjoy being part of the family and get comfort from being inside with their humans. Bella’s ideal furver family is one who will take her on fun, active outings and who will give her affection, exercise, and loads of cuddles.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
