About Duo - checking out my new home
Despite having the racing name “Big Penske”, Duo is quite small for a male (his brother Uni is even finer). Duo is an easy dog to live with, as long as you don’t mind having a shadow – he’ll follow you from room to room and flop down on the floor to keep you company. He is a very affectionate boy and loves nothing more than putting his head in your lap for an ear rub (makes working on the computer a bit difficult at times!). Duo will stay outside by himself, but like most Greyhounds, does prefer to be indoors when he can, and he doesn’t enjoy really hot weather. He travels well in the car & is easy to walk on the lead. Duo loves his food & will eat everything offered to him. He would suit a range of home situations, from singles to families, as long as he got plenty of cuddles.
Duo is good with dogs of all sizes.
He comes complete with his own teddy that he likes to carry around.
He comes desexed, microchipped, wormed and with his teeth cleaned if required. He has been heartworm tested and is on heartworm preventative. He comes with a collar, a lead and a muzzle as well as one heartworm monthly treatment.
Greyhounds are calm, gentle friendly dogs. They do not need long walks and are happy with a twenty minute walk once or twice a day.
They can sleep for up to 20 hours per day.
Greyhounds need to remain on lead at all times in public areas, and should only be allowed off-lead in fenced areas. They need to be muzzled in public until they have passed their Greenhounds assessment which gives them an exemption from muzzling.
They are very susceptible to weather, and will need shelter from the elements. During winter they will need a warm coat. They have little padding on their bones and will need a comfy bed all year around.
