About Gidget and Buffy
Hello, we are Gidget and Buffy.
We are both only 11 years young and are looking for our perfect family to live out our retirement in.
We found ourselves facing homelessness not so long ago as sadly our old owner passed away and no one in their family could take care of us. However, we had luck on our side. Our owners caring daughter could not face seeing us homeless, so she contacted the lovely people at Chihuahua Rescue Qld if they could help us find a new family to call out own.
Since all this has happened we have formed and even stronger bond, resulting in us needing to stay together for the rest of our lives. We are the best of friends. We sleep together, Eat together and even snuggle together (we are so cute when we snuggle…it will just melt your heart).
Buffy is sweet, affectionate and doesn’t like to act her age. She has spunk, loves to play and loves to have lots and lots of attention. \ Gidget on the other hand is far more relaxed and just loves cuddles on the couch or bed. She is shy but still very devoted and loving once she gets to know you better.
Whilst we have been around children, we prefer the company of older children. We are sweet dogs, but we do enjoy our rest and a little bit of space in our twilight years.
Even with all that has happened in our short little lives, we are so thankful for our foster mummy and enjoy sleeping on her bed and greeting her with immense joy when she comes home from work.
If you are interested in adding us beautiful seniors to your lovely home. Please fill out the enquiry form and we look forward to meeting you soon!

Medical notes
Gidget and Buffy's adoption fee is $350 and they must be rehomed together. We have spent well over $1000 on getting their veterinary care up to date, so this adoption fee is to help cover some of their costs.
Both the girls have had full blood tests and they have come back as healthy. They have both had dental surgery and Buffy had quite a few teeth removed.
Gidget has mild luxating patellas but these do not bother her and we would not recommend doing surgery on her due to her age and the fact that she has good mobility and isn't suffering at all.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs have been fully health checked by our vets. We offer a free post-adoption health check with Greencross Vets at Moorooka or Indooroopilly hospitals. This gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the vet about any questions you may have. We provide all veterinary records for each dog, including copies of blood tests, any relevant xrays and medical notes.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. We test all our dogs for heart worm and treat them with regular parasite prevention.
Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, please email chihuahuarescueqld@gmail.com for an Adoption Application. From there, we will be in contact with you within 48 hours to talk further about your application and if successful, to arrange a meet and greet.
Prior to adoption, all dogs will need to have a meet and greet with their family, and a house check will be done. All adoptions are subject to a two week trial to ensure your new friend fits in well with your household.
We have many dogs that are in foster care and are not yet ready to be listed for a variety of reasons. If you have a good idea of what you are looking for in your new dog please email us at chihuahuarescueqld@gmail.com and let us help you match a dog to your needs.
