About Duchess
I have never seen a dog like Duchess before. Like most mixed breed dogs, she shows traits of both the Kelpie and the Shar Pei breed. However, rather then being a mix of them both, it's almost like someone picked out certain features of each breed and put them together to make Duchess. She truly is a very unique looking dog, and she has so much charm.
Duchess has the short, sleek chocolate coat of the Shar Pei. She has a Kelpie face. She has the cute little Shar Pei ears. She has a Kelpie tail. She's a chocolate drop of cuteness and just loves a cuddle.
Duchess is another of our last minute death-row saves. She is not at all a Chihuahua, however she was the last dog left in a country pound and was due to be euthanized on the day we collected her. We just couldn't leave such a sweet young dog to die, regardless of her breed.
Duchess is social with other dogs, big and small. She is very gentle with the little chihuahuas and good with cats as well. I would like her to be rehomed to a family that has another dog, as she really seems to enjoy the company of other dogs.
Duchess is very sweet and cuddly, she nuzzles into your arms for comfort. She has been a bit nervous, but being new out of the pound that is to be expected.

Medical notes
Duchess has been vaccinated, microchipped and desexed. She has had a heartworm test and has started on parasite prevention. She has been fed Royal Canin food whilst in our care.

We have many dogs that are in foster care and are not yet ready to be listed for a variety of reasons. If you have a good idea of what you are looking for in your new dog please email us at chihuahuarescueqld@gmail.com and let us help you match a dog to your needs.
