Jake - the perfect all-round family dog!

Jake is great! He is an all around top dog! Jake was set to be euthanized in a country pound in south west Qld, and when there were no rescue groups with room to take him, we stuck up our hand and said "we'll save him!" No, he's not a chihuahua but he sure loves chihuahuas and don't we all!

Jake is a mixed breed puppy. He has a bit of shepherd in him, mixed with a bit of kelpie, and judging by his amazing striking brindle stripes he must have some kind of bull breed in his breeding too! Don't worry too much about what breed he is, because whilst we aren't sure what his parents were, we can be 100% sure that this is a great natured, friendly, happy dog who just wants a family to love with all his heart!

Jake has been learning so much in his foster home, he is still a puppy so his foster carers have been doing lots of training with him and teaching him some manners. He loves to play.

When our driver Rachelle went and picked Jake up from the pound (a five hour round trip for her!) she was so taken with Jake because she buckled him into the back seat and then he spent the whole car ride home licking her on the back of her neck. It was clear he really really appreciated being busted out of the pound! We gave him a good bath when he got to us, and he just sat there in the hydrobath enjoying the massage and then loved having a towel dry!

Jake is great with other dogs, including the pack of tiny chihuahuas. One of them got right into his face and he didn't care at all! He gave it a happy lick and went on his way!

He is used to living with cats, other dogs and guinea pigs and he gets along with everything!

If you want a beautiful mate to be by your side in life, you can't get any better then Jake! He is smart, eager to please, very social and loves life!
