About Bronte (on trial 22/11/14) ~ purebred Boxer
Bronte is a beautiful 12 month old, male, PUREBRED, red fawn BOXER. He loves going on walks and exploring new places, sniffing new smells, and meeting new people. His new family would need to include him in their active lifestyle, such as by taking him for a walk every day and maybe an outing to the beach or bush on the weekend.
At the moment, we're working on teaching him basic commands and because he is very smart and eager to please, with a little extra training, he will master it all . Bronte has quickly worked out 'sit', but still needs a bit of training with 'stay' and 'come' and not to jump. He only jumps for the first few minutes then calms down. He will need further training such as going to doggie school as he hasn't had any yet but will learn very fast as boxers are very smart dogs.
Bronte is living in a house with a rabbit, 2 cats, and 2 other dogs plus we have birds. He is currently living with a 1 year old and a 5 year old but he is better suited to older children as he might accidentally knock over the little ones. He doesn't mean to but he thinks he is small lap dog even though he weighs 27 kgs. He has a short coat that just requires the usual brushing and bathing.
A little info from Wikipedia:
Boxers are a bright, energetic and playful breed and tend to be very good with children. They are patient and spirited with children, but also protective, making them a popular choice for families. They are active, strong dogs and require adequate exercise to prevent boredom-associated behaviours. They respond best to reward based training, not punishment. The Boxer by nature is not an aggressive or vicious breed. It is an instinctive guardian and can become very attached to its family. Like all dogs, it requires proper socialization. Boxers are generally patient with smaller dogs and puppies, but difficulties with larger adult dogs, especially those of the same sex, may occur. They like to have companionship, in either human or canine form.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
