About Ebony - checking out my new home
Ebony has just come into the GAP program and what a delightful girl she is. At only 2.5 years old she is still quite a puppy and you have to be careful not to leave things laying around or she will claim them. She loves to zoom around the yard and also likes to paddle in the water. She enjoys being with you and gets very excited when she meets new people.
Ebony walks well on the lead, loves her car rides and her toys, especially the squeaky ones. She is a quick learner and is eager to please. She has just taken up picking tomatoes - but is still learning the difference between a green one and a red one.
Ebony is good with dogs both large and small. She comes desexed, microchipped, wormed and heartworm tested. She comes with a collar, a lead and a muzzle as well as one dose of monthly heartworm preventative.
Greyhounds are calm, gentle friendly dogs. They do not need long walks and are happy with a twenty minute walk once or twice a day.
They can sleep for up to 20 hours per day.
Greyhounds need to remain on lead at all times in public areas and should only be allowed off-lead in fenced areas. They need to be muzzled in public until they have passed their Greenhounds assessment which gives them an exemption from muzzling.
They are very susceptible to weather, and will need shelter from the elements. During winter they will need a warm coat. They have little padding on their bones and will need a comfy bed all year around.
