Louie *On Trial in His New Home*

*LOUIE IS CURRENTLY TRIALING HIS NEW HOME - NO MORE ENQUIRIES/APPLICATIONS PLEASE* “Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, we would like to introduce Louie the super-cute little Maltese-Shih Tzu who is eager to become your best friend!” \ With his silky soft fur, a curly-whirly tail and an underbite, this 8 year old knows just how adorable he is! Having been extremely well loved by his family this is a very difficult parting, but unfortunately they can no longer provide the kind of home that Louie deserves, so we’ve promised to find him another one; will it be with you??

Louie is a real companion dog who very much wants to be by your side. He is used to having someone home with him most of the day, so we would love to see this continued in his forever home. He relates well to children and adults of all ages and sizes and his best friend is a cat.

Loveable Louie’s favourite activity is going for a walk to the park, down the street, to the markets, along the river… as long as you are on the end of the lead, he is happy to go on and on - being small he has a lot of stamina. His second favourite activity is going for a drive in the car with his window down – ah the sensory excitement of hundreds of aromas coming at him oh so quickly! Ultimately Louie just loves to be with you and sitting beside you getting a pat, while he gazes adoringly at his owner is his idea of a great night in.

This little guy is used to being an inside boy and we would be looking to continue that. He does like to have the occasional bark at the neighbouring dogs, so it would be best for him to have the option to be inside. Louie is completely house trained, and he will hop up on the couch if you invite him. He has his own bed and is happy to sleep inside wherever you place it and likes to sleep outside sometimes in the warmer months, bearing in mind that the terrier in him was made for scurrying under and over things, so fences need to be secure!

Regular grooming by a professional will keep this naturally long haired dog in a weather appropriate fashion, and Louie is comfortable being brushed and having burrs removed from his fur. He is a good eater who is not terribly fussy - he currently enjoys a diet of high quality dog food which has contributed to his excellent health and great teeth.

Louie would love to be in a home where he can have affection and attention and while he’s ok with other dogs he’d be best as a spoilt ‘only child’ as that’s what he’s used to though sharing his human with a cat would be fine.
