About Alfie ~ Adopted 18/11/14
Alfie is a loving 10 week old, male Shar-pei x Cattle dog puppy. Alfie is a big softie who loves making sure that all his sisters are OK at all times. He is a confident puppy and is not scared of loud noises – even if you are vacuuming he is loyally standing by your side to make sure you do a good job. Alfie loves to give big puppy kisses and lay on the bean bags with the two legged children in the family. He is very quiet even when waiting for dinner - he knows that all good things come to those who wait!
Alfie loves children and is also in foster care with two cats that he is very gentle with. Alfie is a mixture of two very clever breeds – his mother was a Shar-pei and his father was a stumpy tail red cattle dog. He is very clever and treat focused so will respond well to consistent training as he grows – he is learning to sit already. Alfie is only new to toilet training so his new family will need to continue his toilet training as he grows.
Alfie is well socialized with other dogs and would best suit a furever home with another doggy friend to play with or someone who is home a lot. Alfie is very social and too young to be left alone for long periods of time. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training.
Alfie is an inside dog and needs to be allowed inside when his family is home – he must sleep inside at night even when older. \ Dogs and puppies enjoy being part of the family and get comfort from being inside with their humans.
Alfie’s siblings Elsa and Ocean are also available for adoption.
For more information or to meet Alfie, please contact Rebecca on 0423 870 797 or email becanddamo02@bigpond.com. Alfie is in foster care near Gosford, NSW (Central Coast) and is not available for adoption interstate.
Alfie's adoption fee is $450 and includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, and microchipping. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
