About Skeeter
Skeeter is one of our special little "honorary chihuahuas". She is just a pup, and has done so well since being in foster care. Skeeter is happy, playful and just adores people. She's had a very rough life so far, so is still finding her feet in life, but she is going to absolutely blossom once she settles into a new home.
Skeeter would be a great family dog, she is friendly with every person she meets! She loves to play, loves to have a bath and absolutely loves her food. Skeeter is intelligent and very responsive to training.
One of the questions I get asked more then any other is "Why do you have other breeds available for adoption when you are a chihuahua rescue?" We are a Chihuahua Rescue group and we have chihuahuas available for adoption and always will. But if there are other dogs who have no other options, and we have foster carers available, we will take on other breeds.
Skeeter came to us from the Warwick pound thanks to our friends in Pound Paws. She had no other options. She was due to be euthanized, and none of the breed-appropriate rescue groups had room for her, so we took her into care.
When Skeeter came to us, she was with a cattle dog and a border collie x. She was very social and happy playing with them. We have discovered that Skeeter becomes uncertain when meeting new dogs, but once she knows them and feels safe with them, she adores other dogs. We would love for her to have a doggy playmate as she loves a game of tug, but she would be just as happy as an only dog.
Skeeter is being fostered in Ipswich. If you're interested in meeting her, please fill out and expression of interest form: http://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/12529dMiAly65p5nEdDC
Medical notes
Skeeter has been desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and has had a heartworm test. She is treated with parasite prevention and fed on Royal Canin dog food.
Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, please email chihuahuarescueqld@gmail.com for an Adoption Application. From there, we will be in contact with you within 48 hours to talk further about your application and if successful, to arrange a meet and greet.
Prior to adoption, all dogs will need to have a meet and greet with their family, and a house check will be done. All adoptions are subject to a two week trial to ensure your new friend fits in well with your household.
We have many dogs that are in foster care and are not yet ready to be listed for a variety of reasons. If you have a good idea of what you are looking for in your new dog please email us at chihuahuarescueqld@gmail.com and let us help you match a dog to your needs.
