About Lucky ~ Bull Arab
Lucky is a Bull Arab, around 3 years old, and he’s a big, BIG boy! Like a lot of very big dogs he has a quiet, almost gentle air about him, and he doesn't charge around like a smaller dog might. He’s still young enough to be playful and enjoy a game, and he loves a scratch around the ear or a big cuddle if you’re sitting beside him.
Lucky measures 60 cm from the floor to the top of his shoulder, and he weighs around 37 kgs. As you can imagine he is very strong, so if you are only slight you may find him difficult to walk without first taking him to training classes where he would learn to walk without pulling ahead.
Lucky has lived with other dogs at his foster carer’s house and gets along with them very well. Due to his size and weight he would be best in a home with other medium- to large-sized dogs, or as an only dog.
Lucky would make a loyal and devoted companion as he has a lovely nature. He would do best with someone who is confident around dogs and would enjoy teaching him boundaries using kindness and force-free training methods.
We have not observed him with children, but because of his general good nature, we think he would be fine. However, he is too big to mix with small children.
Lucky would be happy to be an inside-outside dog, and his “house manners” are good. While he is in the yard you can be sure no burglar would risk coming onto your property – his size is enough deterrent.
If you are looking for a big dog and would make Lucky part of your family and part of your lifestyle, please phone Lynda, after 7pm Monday to Wednesday or any time other days on 02 4987 1213. Alternatively, you can text 0401264514, or fill out the Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf and email to dogshouse@tpg.com.au. Maybe it’ll be YOUR lucky day! Lucky is in Mandalong, NSW in Lake Macquarie.
Lucky's adoption fee is only $300 and includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
