Hello my name is Sampson!I am a beautiful loyal boy who's had a rough start to life and looking for a gentle active and loving family to call my own. I need a family who has experience with large dogs preferably Malamutes/Huskies in particular. I love to go for walks and will need daily exercise.I can be quite unsure and timid when first meeting new people but once I come to trust you I will be very affectionate and playful. I will need to meet all members of the household prior to going home. I would love to spend as much time with my new family as possible as I have a lot of love to give. I will need a quiet home that will take everything nice and slow. Once I am confident I am very affectionate but I do need someone who will help build positive associations with new things. I have met children walking past at the shelter and love them but I do jump up in excitement when playing so I will need to go home with confident children who are used to large dogs. I would benefit from further training especially in regards to being on a leash as this will help to boost my confidence and improve my manners. I will sit for treats and even shake hands. I have been prone to fly bite on my ears in the warmer months so my new family needs to be on top of this and use a canine fly repellent such as Repellex or Flygon. Despite this I love having my ears scratched. I love water and would love if my new home could have a plastic clam pool for me to wallow my days away during these hot spring/summer days!I need a home with NO CATS or POCKET PETS as I may be inclined to chase them.I will need my coat brushed daily to keep me looking my best and a bath when I get dirty. If I am to go home with a doggy friend they must come into the shelter and meet me before we can go home together to make sure that we are the best of friends.I will require solid 6 foot fencing to keep me safe and secure while you are out and plenty of things to keep me busy as I don't like to be left alone too long. If I am to be an outdoor only dog please give me a kennel as shelter from the elements. For my safety my new home MUST be secure. A premise inspection will be required before I can go home.I have a lot of love to give if you have room for me in your heart please come in to meet me today.
