About Ziggy
Although we are a chihuahua rescue group, if we have the room we will take other small breed dogs. We received a call from a local vet clinic asking if we could help with a "spoodle" who had been dumped on them. We had the room so were happy to help! When we arrived at the hospital to pick Ziggy up, we got a bit of a shock to realize she wasn't a little spoodle, but in fact a medium sized Schnoodle!!! (Schnauzer x Poodle) We didn't mind though, lets face it, she's adorable!
Ziggy was dumped by her owners as they were unable to cope with her separation anxiety. As we read through their surrender notes, we realized that Ziggy's biggest problem was that her family locked her outside all the time and she was never allowed inside to be part of the family. If anyone knows poodles or schnauzers, you'd understand these breeds are NOT to be banished to the backyard. Ziggy can become anxious when left alone, however this is due to a life of neglect. We are doing lots of positive training with her, and now that she is allowed inside in her foster home and given a safe crate to sleep in, she is making amazing progress.
Ziggy loves other dogs and will play all day! She is not too in your face, so she'll play with those who want to play with her, but she'll happily just relax with more laid back dogs. We feel it is essential that Ziggy has a canine companion to help her when her human family need to leave her at home. Please DO NOT apply to adopt Ziggy if you do not have another dog. Ziggy is a medium sized dog (Standard Schnauzer x Mini Poodle and weighs 17kg)
She is very gentle and loving and would make a beautiful family dog.

Please note: we have had many many applications for Ziggy. She does have special needs and so we are going to be very specific to the home she is adopted to. Ziggy must go to a home:
* With another dog to play with
* With a family who will commit to continue crate training
* With a family who understand and have experience with dealing with a dog with seperation anxiety
Medical notes
Ziggy was recently injured when she became panicked after being locked outside on her own in a bad storm. She has had surgery to repair her abdomen which was torn open. She is otherwise a very healthy young dog.
Ziggy has been desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and recently had blood tests. She is treated with Panoramis parasite prevention and fed on Royal Canin food. Ziggy is currently on medication to help her with her anxiety as she transitions into a new home, but we do not expect this to be ongoing once she is settled.
