About Alfonse (Alfie)
Alfie is a very special little man. He is patient, loving and very friendly. Alfie came into our care via the Ipswich pound where he had been dumped. We have no idea who would give up this precious old boy, as he is just delightful.
He loves a cuddle and loves his food! Alfie was devastatingly emaciated when he came into our care but he slowly gained weight with the TLC of his foster carer.
Although Alfie gets along great with other dogs, he is also happy to spend time on his own. He can be selective about cats, and he got along well with the cats in his first foster home but doesn't like the grumpy old cat in his second foster home.
Due to his age and how fragile our poor darling boy is, Alfie would do best in a home with older children.
Alfie is being fostered on the Northside of Brisbane.

Medical notes
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs have been fully health checked by our vets. We offer a free post-adoption health check with Greencross Vets at Moorooka or Indooroopilly hospitals. This gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the vet about any questions you may have. We provide all veterinary records for each dog, including copies of blood tests, any relevant xrays and medical notes.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. We test all our dogs for heart worm and treat them with regular parasite prevention.
Alfie had 21 teeth removed in a huge dental surgery on the second day we had him. He is recovered well, and loves his food!
Due to his heart murmur, he is on medication daily. We will provide 6 months worth of his heart medication. Alfie has had chest xrays and comprehensive blood tests.

We have many dogs that are in foster care and are not yet ready to be listed for a variety of reasons. If you have a good idea of what you are looking for in your new dog please email us at chihuahuarescueqld@gmail.com and let us help you match a dog to your needs.
