About Bobby, English Staffy (On Trial 4/5/15)
Bobby is a perfect English gentleman. Polite, debonair and with just the right amount of cheekiness. He is a 6 year old English Staffy. He has classic brindle colouring with a little patch of white on his chest, big brown eyes and cute pointy ears. He is a perfectly proportioned "tank" of a Staffy except for a tongue that appears too long for his mouth. He can quite frequently be seen with the tip of it sticking out of his mouth during and after sleeping.
Bobby loves being close to the humans in his life and happily trots around behind them making sure he doesn’t miss out on anything. He needs a family that has someone who is home a lot. He needs to be welcome indoors when people are home. He has quite a short coat and will feel the cold so he should sleep inside, at least during the cooler months.
Bobby is very friendly but not clingy, just happy being near you. He is a very quiet boy, is great with kids, even little ones. We don't know if he has lived with other dogs but he likes meeting them on walks and having play dates when he can. He doesn’t play many doggy games and came into care apparently not knowing how to play but he has started to enjoy the occasional game of fetch or tug of war.
Bobby was rescued from the pound and whether it was his stay there or troubles in his former life but he was originally quite anxious at night time and sometimes when visiting new places but has largely got over this and is generally a happy boy. He does not like baths but is starting to warm up to them and has even started having a post-bath burst of silliness.
Bobby’s favourite thing in the world is going to the beach! He is in his element having a run around in the sand, playing with other dogs and meeting people. He also loves bushwalks and does like a good run but he is not difficult to keep up with and is quite happy walking at a relaxed pace. He is generally very good on the lead but can stall occasionally if he sees an interesting dog or if you turn around to go home. Bobby knows basic training which he has picked up quickly. He is not a fussy eater and doesn’t show any food aggression to people or dogs. He adores munching on bones and other tasty treats and likes chilling out in the backyard having a sunbake.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
