About Pim (D2824)
My name is "Pimi" - pronounced "Pimmy" - it is short for "Pimienta" which is Spanish for pepper (because I am white with cute black peppery spots and I am half Chihuahua originating in the Spanish speaking country of Mexico). My other half is Jack Russell Terrier.
I am unique and utterly adorable, I have been called "beautiful" even by some big tough men! I didn’t have a great start to life when I got very ill with Parvo virus and spent months in a cage at a vet clinic until SAFE rescued me. I missed most of my socialisation puppy period which means my social skills are not very developed but I try really hard and have improved in leaps and bounds to make my carer very proud.
I am affectionate with people if they are gentle with me but initially I am reserved and take a while to warm up. I love giving kisses and sitting in your lap or lying next to you. However, I am very sensitive and do not like being startled, touched without my permission, disturbed when I'm sleeping or picked up - these things really make me uncomfortable and I might have to growl or snap to tell you if you don't listen to my body language which is stiff, tucked and withdrawn.
I quite like other small dogs and polite gentle bigger dogs but I cannot cope with big boisterous bouncy dogs and I will tell them off in an attempt to get them away. I LOVE cats (as long as they are social with dogs and would like to play with me not swipe me!).
I am very scared of young children as I did not meet any when I was young and since have been chased by some noisy loud ones who did not respect my personal space or feelings. I love going for runs off the lead, especially by the river. I love sniffing and adventuring. After lots of exercise and running around I love to have some quiet time snuggled up as long as my significant other is nearby. I am quite low maintenance, as long as I get some exercise, things to chew, toys to tug and lots of quiet time with you I will be happy.
Pim is currently located in Perth but please contact SAFE Karratha for enquiries.
