On Hold
About Odie (On hold 2/11/14)~ Kelpie x Chihuahua
Odie is an 11 month old, male, Kelpie x Chihuahua. He has all the brains and character of a kelpie but in a smaller package! He's smaller than your average kelpie but much bigger than a Chihuahua and has lovely long legs. Odie is a very cuddly, affectionate boy who adores people and gets along very well with other dogs around his own size too.
Odie is wonderful with children. He would love to have some kids who will play fetch and soccer with him, play chasies around the yard, or take him for a walk. We don't have cats so I don't know what he's like with them.
Odie loves going to the beach and being able to run around and feel the joy of just being a dog. He greets us with so much love and enthusiasm when we come home it really brightens our day.
He is housetrained and a pleasure to have inside. He will go outside to do his business so long as there is a doggie door or an open door for him. He loves to sit and cuddle with us in the evening. He needs to sleep inside. He doesn't like dog kennels.
Odie would be suited to a home with our without children, with or without other dogs. So long as he is allowed in the house, sleeps inside, and gets exercise and training, he will be a happy little vegemite who reward you all his love and devotion.
For more information or to meet Odie, please contact his foster carer Linda on 0419438464 or email linda_dbythesea@hotmail.com. Odie is in foster care in Swansea, NSW (Lake Macquarie, south of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Odie's adoption fee is only $400 and includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
