On Hold
About Albert <behavioural hold> ~ Labrador ~ Only $200
Introducing Albie, a stunning 6 year old, purebred black Labrador boy. He has lovely manners and sits for his treats. He is toilet trained so he can be inside without any accidents. Albie likes nothing more than to be with his humans and will happily spend all his time with you, therefore he will need to be allowed inside the house. He is a placid and sensitive boy who will require an owner who is patient, caring, kind and understanding. He is also quite strong, so he needs training to teach him how to walk without pulling. He is still young and requires daily exercise and would enjoy a 30 – 45 minute walk each day. \ He loves going out each day to explore his environment and gets very excited when he knows it is 'walkie' time!
Albert is not really a fan of other dogs, however he may enjoy living with another female dog the same size as him. \ He would also be more than happy as an only dog with regular human companionship so someone who is home regularly would be ideal for Albie.
He has a beautiful glossy coat which just needs regular brushing to keep him gorgeous.
Albert is a quiet, gentle boy who has been through a lot of changes recently. He does not cope well with being spoken to harshly or any sort of punishment and so it is a strict requirement that his new family only use positive reinforcement methods to interact and train Albie. A trainer is available to help transition Albie into his forever home.
Albie's ideal forever home would be as part of a family with older teenagers, a home without children, or an active retired person/couple. Because he is very people orientated, someone who is home part of the time would be wonderful for Albie. He would not suit a family with young children as he does not cope well with lots of activity. He would therefore suit a home where he can be included as part of the family but also allows him his own space. He has not been tested with pocket pets or cats.
For more information or to meet Albert please contact Caroline by email to moorefieldsfarm@bigpond.com. Albert is in foster care in the Newcastle, NSW area and is available for adoption interstate.
Albert's adoption fee is only $200 and includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
