About Butch
Check out this absolute stunner for a pooch. Butch is a purebred Rottweiler that until very recently by coming into our care had no idea what life really had to offer.
Butch spent the first nearly 18 months of his life tethered with a lead to a very short run giving him very limited space to move around. He had not seen dogs since his litter mates, and never really had much interaction with his former family at all.
It wasn't until Wally's stepped in to help this poor boy, when we realised just how poor shape he really was in. His skin was flea infested, flaky and incredibly itchy. His poo was full of worms. His coat was dry and course. He was incredibly underweight and in need of some decent nutritious food.
Looking at Butch now, you would never think he is the same dog! He is putting on weight and filling out more each day. His coat is looking the way a Rottweilers coat should look, beautifully shiny and extremely soft to touch and his fleas and worms are gone.
But the most amazing thing is, this neglected and completely unsocialised dog has the biggest, softest heart you will come across.
Butch loves dogs and just wants to always play with them. I suppose he is making up for all the lost time he had.
He is great with kiddies as there are 2 in his foster family (18 months and 4 weeks old), although we would recommend slightly older kids if possible as he is still learning his size and weight and may push them over by accident.
He just LOVES his humans and is so obviously very appreciative of the situation they rescued him from.
We have discovered Butch is an extremely trainable dog and doing great. He knows sit and will wait for his food. He is not jumping up anymore and always comes when called. He still pulls on the leash, but is getting much better and is great off leash.
Butch is just learning how the world works and everything in it. We are looking for a very special type of person to be able to continue his adjustment to normal life along with basic training and give this beautiful soul a loving environment to call home.
Wally's like all of our rescues to be adopted into families that will continue their socialisation and allow their dogs inside of the home on a regular basis to ensure that they feel part of the family. This is particularly so if they are to be an only dog.
Butch is located on the Central Coast of NSW where he lives with his foster family.

When enquiring about Butch, please give us some indication of the type of home that he would have with you. We are interested in things such as other animals (past and present), children who may have contact with the dog, whether you own or rent your home, what opportunities for socialisation outside the home your dog would have, how much you/someone is home and most importantly, why you feel this dog/pup may be suitable for you.
Wally's Dog Rescue put a lot of time and effort into ensuring our dogs/pups are sociable and made to feel part of the family, so in considering adoptions, these are the type of things we will be looking for in a new family.
