About Rocco
Hi, my name is Rocco and I am a lovely friendly boy who unfortunately is being surrendered as a new baby is arriving and my owners feel I am already suffering anxiety from not getting the attention I need now so this situation will only get worse.
I am house trained, sleep on my bed in my parents bedroom and am inside with them when they are home. However if they go out I have to be put on a cable run or I escape and try to find them.
I live with a 2 year old and am very good with him under supervision. I am very excitable and jump on people and dogs and need some training to stop me doing this. However, I am not walked at all so you too would be full of beans if you had no way to get rid of that energy.
I went to training when young and got to level 2 obedience. Will sit, drop and stay and love going for drives in the car but I warn you I drool a little.
I would suit an active family who are prepared to take me back to dog obedience and it is vital that you give me lots of walks and play to use up some of that energy that Staffords are known for.
SRV strongly suggests would-be adoptees read an excellent resource article titled "Your New Dog" written by a dog behaviourist. There are many tips here to help you with a smooth transition of your new dog into your household. You will find it on the Adoption page on our website.
Adoption details
If you think you can offer me a forever home please go to
http://www.staffordrescuevictoria.org.au/index.php/adoption-forms-6
and fill out the Adoption Request Form. You will receive an email acknowledgement within 3 days. If you do not receive any further contact after this please do not be discouraged. It just means that a suitable application was received before yours. We encourage you to contact Jan: jan.hutton@optusnet.com.au every 2-3 weeks to show you are still interested in adopting. As we will already have your form on file it will fast track the process when a suitable dog does become available.
Adopt one of our dogs and we are there for you for the rest of the dog's life. If you find you and the dog are not suited it is a condition of sale that the dog comes back to Stafford Rescue.
