About Pixie ~ Rehomed 14/11/14
Pixie is a very sweet, 6 month old, large, mixed breed (Bull Arab x Dalmatian x Mastiff?). She is very calm. She is a very loving puppy. She loves to play with our other dogs in a range of sizes and would love to find a furever home with another dog for company. But if she had plenty of exercise and was included in family activities, and had people company everyday she would be ok as an only dog.
She is a settled dog, not overly energetic. Like all dogs, she loves to go for a walk so she can have a sticky beak at the neighbourhood. She knows how to relax. The vet thinks she will be around 25 kgs when fully grown.
Pixie is in foster care with a 4 year old child and is wonderful with him, no nipping or jumping up. Of course children should always be supervised when playing with dogs. Pixie is brilliant with our chickens. She can be in the same yard with them and shows very little interest in them. She has not been tested with cats.
Pixie loves to sleep inside and is being crate trained, She will need to be welcome inside, even when she is all grown up, so she feels part of the family.
Pixie is new to basic training and house training but as has come forward in leaps and bounds whilst in foster care. She is very willing to please and loves nothing more than to make her people happy. We recommend Pixie attend training classes to continue her instruction and give her the best start in life.
Pixies ideal home would be with a loving family who will give her training, walks, and lots of snuggle time on the lounge. She is suitable for children over 4 years old.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
