About Roxy
Want a everlastingly devoted little mate to hang with you all day no matter where you are or what you're doing? Roxy's the girl for you. She loves loves loves her human family, and is simply satisfied to be near you - she doesn't need to be entertained or coddled, she just knows if you're there then she's happy.
She's like a big little dog - she's around 15 kg (or a little less) but the height of possibly a Standard Foxy - a burly litttle girl but still little enough to very much enjoy a cuddle on your lap - the perfect compromise if little dogs aren't your thing but bigger ones aren't suitable either. She's a very low shedding girl with very little doggie odour, and has been an impeccably clean young lady at her carer's house.
She loves to busy herself in the yard and treasures the chance to run around in her own domain - she's as fast as lightning hurtling around the yard, so if she had room to run/occupy herself at home she's a natural self-exerciser so wouldn't necessarily need daily off-territory walks.
She learns incredibly quickly to respect human requests about boundaries and space - don't go into the shed, don't go through that door etc. If you're in the house and she out, she'll find the nearest door to you and hang right
there, and follow you around as best she can (she'd love to be in if you're in and out if you're out). Her respect for boundary-setting means training her to your house/yard rules isn't hard at all.
She loves to go out with her people in the car. Being a smaller girl, she's very easy to have with you.
She's a pretty ecstatically hyper and pretty nervously excitable girl on lead so would need regular patient training in this area, and an understanding that she just wants her special people - she doesn't need to say hello to dogs as they go by.
She loves kids, and they love her, but she's so excited by the attention she'd need kids/a family comfortable and familiar with jubilant little ladies like herself who wouldn't be upset by a little bouncing up to say hi. She so very much loves being the special one, so a family who could confidently assure everyone was clear on their roles in the family unit would work best.
While she makes out she's a little tough girl who can take on any dog so bring it on, she's actually a nervous little girl who'd love most of all to be an only furry child, or living with dogs who aren't that bothered about her one way or the other. She's a companion to humans, not dogs!
She'd love a situation where people are confident in helping a little lady feel secure through calm boundaries and consistency. She's that delightful mix of fisty go-getter up for anything, and sweet low-maintenance little lady about the house minding her manners and desperate to fit in.
