About Tubby (On Trial 2/11/14)~ Great with kids
Hi! My name is Tubby and all I want to do is be your best friend! I am a very handsome 5 year old Rotti x Lab with the loveliest nature. I am great with all the dogs I meet on my walks and in the park. I get along well with the cat that lives here and am very patient and affectionate with children. I took no interest in the chickens I met. I am not a barker.
Since being in foster care I have very quickly learnt to sit when asked, come when called, and walk well on a leash. I have been sleeping outside in a kennel with my foster brother, but also love coming inside when I can. I will need to be allowed inside when I get adopted so I can feel like I'm part of the family.
I went to a big street fair and met lots of people and other dogs and had a wonderful time, charming everyone that I met. I'm just a happy-go-lucky boy who enjoys life. All I am missing is a home to call my own.
I am very easy to walk on lead. I will even walk nicely while you push a pram. If you accidently drop the lead I will wait patiently while you pick it up. I'm not interested in running off.
I would be well suited to a home with another dog as I love the company of my foster brother, but I am also fine alone if I have a human friend to keep me occupied. I love a daily walk, other than that I am fairly lazy and love to lay in the sun. I love to give my foster mum a hug and let her know how appreciative I am of everything - she says I will make a great furever dog for a lucky human - I hope that will be soon.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
