About Toby ~ (On Trial 3/11/14) Labrador x kelpie puppy
This is Toby, a 3 1/2 month old male Labrador X Kelpie puppy. He is the perfect companion and loves to play and is very affectionate! He gets along well with other dogs (my 11month old husky x Lab is currently his best friend!). Toby is looking for a forever home where he will be spoilt with cuddles, and enjoy an active lifestyle. He would love to have another dog around to help burn off some energy and play. So far we have found him to be very gentle, and is great with kids!
When Toby first arrived he did not even have a name, had no prior house training or obedience skills. Now he is learning very quickly where to do his business, to settle inside and to use his manners. He sits very well on command, and is learning to wait at the door and for his food. His newest skill is the “leave it” command. He does very well with training for treat rewards. What he has shown us is astounding, as he aims to please and is obviously very smart!
Toby loves to play fetch, although gets very easily distracted by our other dog and sometimes forgets to bring the ball back. Toby enjoys walking, and is fantastic on the lead. He loves to get out and about to explore and get some much needed exercise.
For more information or to meet Toby, please contact his foster carer Emma on 0418 709 553. Toby is in foster care in Rutherford, NSW (30 minutes west of Newcastle).
Toby's adoption fee is only $450 and includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
