About Atlas (on trial 5/12/14) ~ Fox Terrier
Atlas is a 5 year old, male, Fox Terrier. He is a lovely affectionate dog who enjoys being a part of his family. He is a small dog with long legs, weighing in at a healthy 7.5kg. He is a lively little fellow and loves a good bone to chew on. He loves to play ball and to play “tug” with you. He is house trained and knows how to use a doggy door. At the end of his long day he loves nothing more than to snuggle up with his human in front of the TV.
Atlas sits when asked and comes when called. He loves treats and will respond very well to further training using treat rewards. He is initially wary of meeting strangers but quickly makes friends. He is generally quiet but will let you know if someone approaches the gate. He will make a very good watch dog.
Atlas has a lovely soft, shiny coat . He is well behaved when being bathed and loves being brushed.
Atlas has spent the last 3 months in the company of many dogs and gets on exceptionally well with them all. He would be very well suited to a home with one or more dogs.
Atlas requires a secure yard as he has no problem jumping small fences. He responds very quickly to love and would be best suited to a home with a retiree or someone who is home most of the time.
For more information or to meet Atlas please Di on 0425-200-721 or email dipamp4@bigpond.com. Atlas is in foster care in Port Stephens, a bit north of Newcastle, NSW.
Atlas's $300 adoption fee includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration, and supports our work. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
