About Charly
Charly is an adorable 6yo black & white female Border Collie who is looking for a home as her elderly owner has become ill and cannot take proper care of her. We need a very special home for this exceptionally smart girl.
Charly knows “SIT, STAY, COME” and also waits for the “OK” to eat her food.
She is house trained and knows how to use a doggy door to let herself outside for toilet breaks. In her last home she had the run of the entire house during the day, able to come in and out as she pleased. At night she slept indoors. \ In foster care, she gets a goodnight pat and then sleeps soundly through the night outside on a raised bed. She is no trouble at all.
Her recall is good generally, however once she is very excited (chasing a rabbit etc), she tends not to hear you as she is extremely focused on the job at hand (typical of her border collie breeding).
Charly is great with people of all ages and gets along with other dogs, however she can take or leave them and is really more of a people person. She loves her human and is happy to be with you where you are.
She loves nothing more than a good walk (or run), a splash in the creek and then spending time with her human, receiving a good comb/brush (this is quality bonding time). It’s worth the time spent as her coat is absolutely gorgeous and looks amazing once it is nicely brushed out.
She is a soft, gentle, kind and extremely clever girl.
Charly will make an excellent pet for the right type of person. Her energy level is medium for a Border Collie. \ She will be ideally suited to a reasonably energetic single person or couple. \ She will also do well in a family situation with older children.
