About Sandy and Chino (On Trial 22/11/14)~ Maltese pair
Sandy and Chino are a bonded pair of Maltese cross boys in need of a loving home for their retirement years. They are used to receiving attention, and love to be close to you. While I'm doing things around the house I will have one or both boys following me. They love to sit on your lap or next to you while you're watching TV. Sandy and Chino enjoy each other's company and usually stay close by each other. The boys have spent nearly all their lives together so will need to be adopted together.
Sandy is 10 years old and is a little bigger than his 8 year old best friend. Sandy has a lovely caramel and white coat which is so soft. Chino has the white Maltese coat. Both boys will need regular brushing, a bath every 2 to 3 weeks and a trip to the groomers every 6 to 8 weeks to keep their fur in great condition. Sandy and Chino both arrived in matted condition but behaved well when they were bathed and groomed upon arrival in foster care. Unfortunately their owner passed away and with no family to take them Sandy and Chino found themselves in the pound.
Sandy and Chino don't have high energy levels and would be happy with a short walk around the block every day. They would be suitable for a retired couple or someone who is home often.
Sandy and Chino appear to be toilet trained apart from a couple of accidents which is understandable in a new place. While in foster care, the boys are learning to use a doggy door. Sandy and Chino are used to sleeping on my bed as they are so devoted. They prefer to sleep on the lounge rather than on dog beds. Currently they are living with 2 other small dogs and 2 cats and are getting along with everyone. They're also living with several children so would be ok around gentle children.
For more information or to meet Sandy and Chino please phone Michelle on 0423 266 911 or email furryfullhouse5@gmail.com. The boys are in foster care in Corlette in Port Stephens, NSW 2315 (around 30 minutes north of Newcastle) and are available for adoption interstate.
Sandy and Chino's adoption fee is only $200 for the pair and includes their desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
