Periwinkle

PERIWINKLE a tiny pocket rocket Staffy x puppy with adorably unique looks and a sweet playful nature. While she is mostly white, she has the sweetest freckled nose and tummy.

Still just a baby at around 6-7 weeks old, Periwinkle is full of bounce and joy. Despite being deaf, Periwinkle is just like any other puppy, she loves to play, chew, run, cuddle & eat!

Peri has a keen interest in outdoor exploring and sunbathing, and is starting to show interest in water activities. Currently her favourite pastime is collecting rocks, moving them from one side of the yard to the other and then back again.

It is obvious that Periwinkle is a smart little girl and a quick learner! She has discovered that the fridge contains her food and will often sit in front of it and bark when she is hungry, and she automatically sits (without being taught) for treats.

In foster care, little Miss Winkle lives with 2 older small dogs and another Staffy, an adult male, whom she is making fast friends with. When napping Peri seeks to curl up with one of her foster siblings or cuddle in the lap of her foster parents. She loves contact and sleeps soundly when she knows her people are close by.

MY IDEAL HOME: Some points that we are hoping to find in a forever home for Periwinkle are as follows...

- experience with a deaf pup, or willingness to put the work into learning the ropes such as sign language, puppy school etc

- management of separation anxiety. Peri HATES to be left alone for even 5 minutes (she has a great set of lungs)

- an understanding that she needs good sun protecting. Peri loves the outdoors (she is happiest playing out in the sun) but she burns easily

- inside & outside living. Peri will need to be a dog with 24/7 access to both indoors & outside, sleeping inside at night.

- another dog for company (this is not a deal breaker). Peri loves the company of other dogs and having a canine companion would help to ease her separation anxiety.

MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: Periwinkle has had cuddles with children from ages 3+ and is trying her best not use her sharp puppy teeth.

MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: Periwnkle loves her canine foster siblings, big and small. So far she has yet to meet any cats, however she would most likely make friends with any dog-loving kitties.

Periwinkle will be desexed between 10-12 weeks old and will then be ready to move into her furever home.
