About Gaston (On Trial 22/9/14)
Gaston is around 2 years old and is a Chihuahua x Miniature Pinscher. Would you like a man around the house who is strong, brave, affectionate, and more; in fact everything you ever wanted, all wrapped up in a little 5kg package? Then look no further.
Gaston has a short, shiny coat and very impressive ears! He likes to follow you around the house and yard, sit next to you on the lounge, play with toys, and play with other small dogs. When you come home from work his uncontainable excitement will brighten even the roughest day!
Gaston already has some basic training and is responsive to requests and learning new things. He is housetrained and sleeps all night in his crate in the lounge room until morning. He is living with 3 other small dogs and has a great time with them. He is an inside dog and needs to be allowed inside, at least when people are home, and to sleep inside. He would love to have another small dog for a playmate if possible.
Gaston is a good little climber/jumper, so you will need to make sure there aren't any pot plants or furniture that he could use to climb over the fence. I lost track of him once around the house and found that he had hopped onto a bookshelf to perch himself on top of the fridge! What a character.
Gaston was rescued along with dozens of other dogs from an animal hoarder. When he came into foster care he was quite timid but has made amazing progress in just a few short weeks and is now very affectionate, happy and fun loving. He is a little unsure about meeting strangers but after around 5 minutes he happily approaches them for a pat.
Gaston is an absolute sweetheart. If you meet him you will fall in love.
For more information or to meet Gaston, please contact his foster carer Ellen on 0421 189 111 or email femonazi69@gmail.com. Gaston is in foster care in Mayfield, NSW (Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Gaston's adoption fee is only $400 and includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
