About Chevy
Chevy is an extremely loving dog. She needs to be with her humans and needs to be able to be both inside and outside (a dog door where she can come and go or a patient parent who can let her in and out as she needs). Chevy has lived with a child (5-8 years of age) for the last few years. She has shown herself to be patient and nurturing to children. Chevy loves to run around and enjoys long walks or runs around the dog park. She is also wonderful to have inside, very content to just sit with her humans and hang out in her down time.
Chevy has a lot of excitable energy in new situations so needs an owner who is kind and comforting and patient to make her feel safe and at ease. Chevy barks when she is happy or excited, she will bark when new people come to the house (if she is outside) but she will lick them to death and demand pats on introduction.
Chevy is highly trainable, if you are consistent with her she understands what you want without much training and she is always wanting to please. She sits and lays down when asked and she will sit patiently even when excited to get food or her halter on to go for a walk.
Chevy has also lived with another large dog for the last few years and they get along perfectly.
Chevy does have anxiety on lead around other animals, especially small ones (but never toward humans). Once introduced properly in a safe environment she would be fine but new animals while she is on lead provoke much anxiety for her.
