About Boomba (On Trial 27/9/14)
Hi, my name is Boomba. I’m a healthy, 8 month old, Shih Tzu x Maltese puppy. I am bigger than you would expect, being about the size of a cocker spaniel and weighing 8 kilos. I love to snuggle, and even though I am still a puppy, I’m a gentle boy who is looking for a family that will love me forever. I am very pretty as you can see. I look kind of like a miniature English sheep dog, and my foster mum says I have the loveliest eyes she has ever seen!
I love kids, I'm not sure how I feel about cats as we don’t have any here, but there are chickens, and I am very interested in them and watch them in their house, but I don’t bark at them, and no matter how much I do puppy bows, they don’t want to play! Before I came to this house, I lived with another doggie and we played and played. I really like wrestling and playing tag. Because I am still a puppy I am a bit rough at playing with doggies, but a canine brother or sister who is about the same size as me would be great!
My favourite thing is the world is playing and snuggling with my little boy, and I follow him around all day helping him play. When he brushes me it's just ohhhhhh so nice! It's even fun when we just sit and watch TV. Do you have a child that would love a new best friend?
I enjoy my daily walk around the neighbourhood, discovering all the different smells and saying hello to everyone I meet, (especially little boys and girls, I LOVE kids). Going places with my family is one of the best things to do. The beach is great fun, and I like running around on the sand, I am a very good boy in the car on the way home and sit on my towel.
I am not a fussy eater, and have gobbled up everything that has been offered to me. I like treats and chews as well. I don’t bark unnecessarily, not even when the big dog next door barks, but I do like to protect my home by letting everyone know if I see something I think is strange. My foster mum says I sound very impressive.
Where I lived before I was not allowed inside very often, so I am not completely toilet trained yet, but I am a clever boy and it won't take me very long at all. My foster mum puts what she calls a belly band around me so it's not too bad if I forget and try to wee inside. It’s a strip of material that you put a pad inside then it goes around my tummy to cover the necessary bits, and then is closed with Velcro, it's very comfortable and I don’t mind at all. It's only a temporary training aid. My belly band will come with me to my new home just to help me settle in.
I like to sleep on my blankie on my bed in the laundry and I don’t bark at all. When I am properly toilet trained I would love to sleep inside with my humans though.
I have a low shedding coat which will need regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 6 to 8 weeks) to keep me comfortable and beautiful.
Ideally, my new home would have someone who is home a lot of the time, or have a doggie brother or sister to hang out with. I think kids would just be the bestest thing in the world to have! I am a quiet, friendly, little bloke who is looking for a home where I will be loved forever. My foster mum says she is going to miss me like crazy, but will be happy to know that I have my very own family to look after me.
