About Charli ~ fem Dachshund x kelpie (On Trial 20/9/14)
Charli Girl is an active 5-6 month old, dachshund x kelpie puppy. She is a gorgeous, happy puppy and full of energy. She loves playing with her squeaky toys, and will chase a ball or anything thrown. She gets on well with other dogs. When she first meets another dog she barks and bounces around playfully, and they soon become friends. She is currently in a home with an older 11-year-old large female dog. She would be happy to go to a home with another dog, but that is not a requirement.
Charli loves children. She is currently living in a house with 6 and 8 year old boys and they have endless fun playing together. Though she playfully grabs your hand, she does not bite hard, and the boys have never been hurt during their games of chase and tackle with Charli. They can easily take a toy from her, and she lets go willingly. She would love to go to a home where someone has time to play.
As Charli is still so young, she is not completely house trained, and sometimes has accidents indoors, but she is learning to go outside, and is getting better at it every day. She is also being trained to walk on a lead and harness, and she loves a walk. There is so much to sniff and enjoy out there, and she would love to run for hours. She has a good sleep after a walk.
As her foster carer I have found Charli very intelligent and a fast learner. She understands “sit” and we are currently working on “outside”, “down” and “off”. She is learning which areas of the house are dog-free, and that sofas are off limits too. She sleeps on her blanket on a beany-bag, and loves snuggling up in it. She is ok to be outside during the day but needs to be allowed inside of an evening to enjoy the company of her people and must sleep inside.
Charli loves a nice cuddle, and would love to go to a home that would shower her with love and attention. She has a friendly nature, and loves company. She would be a great family dog, and would be a happy companion to anyone.
For more information, and the opportunity to meet Charli, please contact her foster carer Nic on 0401744182 or email icyana@hotmail.com. Charli Girl is in foster care near Gosford on the NSW Central Coast and is available for adoption interstate.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
