About Ricky ~ Silky Terrier (no longer availablel)
Ricky is a tiny, 3 year old, male, silky terrier x. If you're looking for a best friend then Ricky is for you. He has many expressions and a lot of personality for such a little dog. He is a sooky, snuggle-pot that just wants your company and love. He is quite happy to sit beside you on the lounge or on your lap or even in your arms as he rests his head on your shoulder.
Ricky can be playful at times. He does a funny little thing with his feet when he is excited and ready to go. He likes to play with any stuffed toy that is small enough for him to grip with his tiny mouth.
Ricky is toilet trained and is an inside dog. Not only would he like to share your company, he would really like to share your bed too!
Ricky walks well on a lead and when off lead he doesn't venture to far from your side and always returns once his name is called. He loves car rides too. He has some basic training and he is still very young and could learn more if you want to teach him or take him to training classes.
Ricky is intimidated by other dogs, especially any dog bigger then himself. He would prefer being an only dog. He doesn't like to be home alone all day so someone who is retired or only works part time would suit him best. Ricky is fine with cats.
Ricky is a little timid and can be scared easily by loud noises and quick movements so a home with no children or only older children (over the age of around eight) would be better for him.
If you would like to know more info about Ricky please don't hesitate to give me a call, I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have. Sue 0415 367 144 or email docman4@bigpond.com. Ricky is in foster care in Newcastle and is available for adoption interstate.
Ricky's $400 adoption fee includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
