About Archie
Hi there, I'm Archie! I'm an affectionate and playful young dog with a lot of love and cuddles to give.
Watch out, though - I'm really clever, so you'll have to be extra-double clever with my training. ;)
So far I've mastered some common commands: sit, down, come and heel. I'm a tennis champ and will bring the ball back to you endlessly... if you've got the time, I've got the energy!
Some of my favourite things are, in no particular order: belly rubs, hanging out with kids of all ages, backyard playtime, Smackos treats, being a superstar at fetch with my foster mum, splashing around in water, any kind of water - I even love getting a bath!... and best of all, a forever home to call my own. (I'm still waiting for that one - that's where you come in!)
MY IDEAL HOME: I would adore being part of a young, energetic family that spends a lot of time doing fun stuff in the outdoors and would let me join in their activities. Obviously I need lots of cuddles and yummy food. I'm pretty independent; I understand when playtime is over and will happily keep myself entertained.
Ongoing guidance and boundary-setting need to be an important part of my life, as I'm super smart and a tiny bit willful, but I do respond really well to obedience training. My foster mum reckons I'd be fantastic with agility sports too.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: My foster mum says I'm not just full of beans, I'm overflowing with them! I love playing tug o''war and hide 'n seek, and I need at least one good long walk per day and plenty of toys and enrichment to keep me happy and healthy.
My foster mum says I'm a good boy for not digging in the garden and I hardly ever bark, but that's because she keeps me busy with lots of exercise and play. :)
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: Kids of all ages are awesome! I live with a 2-year-old and a 10-year-old in my foster home, and it's love and adoration all round.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: I've spent a bit of social time with other dogs when I'm out and about, and they're terrific fun! I haven't lived with cats before, but I'm happy to meet your resident kitties and see how we go.

Adoption details
We ask all people looking to adopt to fill an enquiry form.
You can receive this by emailing NSWadoptions@maggiesrescue.org or visiting our webpage www.maggiesrescue.org
We will then organise a time for you to meet with the foster carer and the pet you are interested in adopting.
Maggie's wants this to be a good experience for you, and we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog as your situation may not meet the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of this period we will transfer the microchip to your details and the adoption is complete.
Your pet is a Maggie's Pet for Life, please consider this before adopting.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
