About Charlie the border collie (On Trial 15/9/14)
Charlie is a delightful 1yo, purebred short-haired Border Collie. He is the sweetest little guy and is looking for a family to love him to bits! Charlie is a fast learner and has mastered walking on a lead, is house trained, and can complete the basic sit, stay, and come commands. He is not aggressive with other dogs and is happy to share. He is extremely agile and very intelligent. He is currently fostered by a family with an older Border Collie who is teaching him good habits.
Charlie loves to romp around the yard and is happy to stay outside for periods during the day but loves to come inside and be part of the family. He especially likes cuddles and sleeps inside snuggled up in a basket. This little sweetheart had a rough start to life and is ever so eager to please and just wants to be loved and to feel safe.
Charlie adores going for walks and swimming at the beach. He is an excellent traveller and is perfect in the car.
Charlie’s ideal home would have someone to keep him company for most of the day. He would be an ideal companion for a child or a couple of children to grow up with and love. He would fit in just as well with a family or person with no children.
Currently in foster care at Salamander Bay, NSW (Port Stephens). He is looking forward to returning every bit of love he receives from his new family.
For more information or to meet Charlie, please contact his foster carers Roslyn or David on (02) 4984 7505 or email roslyngai@hotmail.com. Charlie is available for adoption interstate.
Charlie's adoption fee is $450 and includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
