About Jessie the Jack Russell (On Trial 15/9/14)
Jessie is a 9 year old Jack Russell Terrier and is one of the loveliest dogs I have had in my home. Jack Russell's commonly live to 16 years, so at 9, Jessie is barely middle aged, active, and with a lot of love to give. Jessie was a much loved dog whose owner had to move and was unable to take her. Jessie enjoys a daily walk and gets excited when the harness and leash come out. She also loves driving in the car and is very well behaved.
Jessie is a very affectionate dog who loves cuddles and giving doggy kisses. At night, she enjoys snuggling on the lounge next to you or on your lap. During the day, she follows you around, especially into the kitchen - just in case a tasty tit bit should happen to fall. She loves her food and is not a fussy eater. Jessie is fully house trained and has not had a single accident since she came into my care.
When Jessie first arrived, she was intimidated by my standard poodle and growled at him whenever they were in close proximity. Now they are the best of friends and she goes up to him to initiate play. Hence she would be suited to a home with a doggy play mate or as an only dog as she was in her former home.
Jessie loves toys and quickly found the toy box. She has a cute habit of getting toys out and putting them in her bed. At 9, she is well past the puppy stage and doesn't chew or destroy shoes or furniture, etc and is not a nuisance barker. Jessie is an inside dog with access to the back yard for toileting. Although she has been sleeping on my bed at night, I am sure she would adjust to sleeping in her own bed provided it was warm and cosy.
Jessie is lovely with children and other dogs (once she gets to know them). I do not know if she is good with cats as I do not have one. She has a short, low maintenance coat that just needs an occasional brush and bath to keep her looking her best.
If you are interested in meeting this beautiful little dog, please send an email to Rebecca at rosella52@bigpond.com. Jessie is in foster care in Kotara, NSW (Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Jessie's adoption fee is only $250 and includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
