About Max (On Trial 5/9/14)~ Senior Staffy boy
Max is a 10 year old, small, English Staffy who is a gentle, easy going boy. He is fully house trained and happy around other dogs. When inside, Max is happy to potter around after you, sit in his bed and have a snooze or just watch what is going on. He is also happy outside and will find a spot to sit in the sun. Max sleeps inside at night and will sleep through until woken up to go out in the morning.
Max really enjoys going for a walk and playing with his toys. He enjoys a 30 minute walk a few times a week, walks nicely on a harness and shows no interest in other dogs. Max has a stuffed toy that he loves to carry around and will also play with his ball.
At his foster home Max lives with a small and large dog and settled in with them straight away. He is happy to play with them or sit and watch when they get a bit too boisterous. Max is outside in the yard during the day and inside with his foster family whenever they are home. He has a short coat and feels the cold so needs to sleep inside.
Max would be suited to a home that wants all the best parts of owning a dog such as companionship, affection and having a gentle soul in the house. Toilet training, walking on a lead and learning general good manners have all been done and he is now looking for a home and a loving person or family to call his own.
Max is small for his breed at approx. 14.5kg and whilst not a traditional ‘lap dog’ would also suit someone who is looking for a dog that fits that category but is a happy to consider a different breed.
For more information or to meet Max, please contact his foster carer Sarah on 0403 743 099 or email sjwray16@gmail.com. Max is in foster care in Thornton, NSW (between Newcastle and Maitland) and is available for adoption interstate.
Max's adoption fee is only $100 because of his senior status and includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
