About Roxy, purebred Fox Terrier (On Trial 30/8/14)
Roxy is a 6 month old, pure bred, fox terrier. She has beautiful markings and a very friendly personality. She loves people and other dogs. She loves a cuddle and lying next to you during her rest times.
Roxy was bought as a family pet but is too frisky for the young family. She needs an older family or another dog to play with. She is still a puppy and needs lots of training. Roxy sits and stays on command and is learning to walk on a lead. \ Fox Terriers are very clever and curious dogs and respond very well to training. She would enjoy going to training classes.
Roxy is very intelligent and learns quickly. She is an inside dog and needs to be allowed inside, at least when people are home, and to sleep inside. She is house trained and learnt to use the doggie door within seconds. She likes to play with toys and can be destructive of soft toys but loves to chase and fetch balls and squeaky toys. She does like taking shoes and hiding them. She sits on her bed when she is not busy exploring. She is very alert and inquisitive and likes to know everything that is going on around her.
The Fox Terrier is not to be confused with the more common Miniature Fox Terrier. Fox Terriers are small dogs but are taller than a Miniature Foxy. Roxy plays with my very small dog but her ideal playmate would be a dog her own size or a bit larger. She is not good with guinea pigs and rabbits and maybe cats.
Roxy has the makings of a lovely family pet who will be very loyal and loving.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
