About Kat, kelpie x (On Trial 31/10/14 w Willow)
Let me tell you about a dog named Kat, a very charming, extra small, female, kelpie x Chihuahua, aged 7 months. This girl is never going to grow to the usual kelpie size (her mother was a Chihuahua cross), so if you don’t want a big dog, but want a dog with all the brains and character of a kelpie then check out Kat. All that and more in a neat and small-sized package. How good is that?!
Kat has a rich black coat which is shiny and easy care. She’s a cuddler and a snuggler, loves to sit on your knee or sleep on your bed, and luckily she’s small enough to do both! She's an inside dog for sure.
You might think with a name like Kat she could be a bit confused about her identity (her previous owner named her after the Katnis character in the movie The Hunger Games), but this little lady is all dog. She loves to play, go for a ride in the car, chase the other dogs around the yard, and be taken out for a walk, so this Kat is a really fun dog and will be a great companion for people whose lives are active. She loves to chase after a ball, but doesn’t bring it back to you, so whether she is still a bit young for that is uncertain.
Kat is living with other dogs of different sizes at her foster-carer’s house, but she does she doesn't care to meet strange dogs when out walking. She can be a bit bossy with other dogs around her own size and seems to have appointed herself to the role of playground supervisor, so she would be best placed in a home where there were no other dogs, or where any other dog was only small and docile.
If you would like to know more about this little character please phone her foster-carer, Lynda, Monday to Wednesday after 7pm on 02 4987 1213 and any time on other days, or text 0401 264 514 any time. Kat is located in the Raymond Terrace area (north of Newcastle) and is only about 10 minutes by car from the end of the M1 motorway.
Kat's adoption fee is only $400 and includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
