About Scruffy (On Trial 30/8/14)
Meet Scruffy. He is a 7 year old, male, Jack Russell Terrier. He rarely barks. He loves a cuddle and a pat and is happy to sit in his bed outside at the back door. He is a little unsettled at first when inside but soon settles in and lays on his bed or the mat at the back door. At night he lays in his bed in the bathroom and doesn’t make a sound all night. Some mornings we nearly need to wake him up to go out to the toilet.
He is an active little dog that enjoys playing with his toys in the back yard. He LOVES to go for long walks and is excellent on the lead, happy to walk or run next to you. When inside, he often runs towards the front door ready for a walk if you get up to do something. He isn’t bothered by other dogs whilst walking or running.
He loves his food and isn’t at all fussy. He has had some front teeth removed but that doesn’t affect his eating. He is slowly learning to sit for food and comes to you when called. Scruffy is an indoor dog.
We have had him here for a few weeks now and have found him to be a pleasure.
He is a very calm dog that gets on very well with other dogs. He gets on well with our Maltese x Shih Tzu (even though she likes to rule the roost). He is no problem with children of any age and would be suited to most families but would prefer to have someone home with him most days. He currently lives with another small dog and with two cats and has no issues at all.
For more information or to meet Scruffy please phone his foster carer Lisa on 0414 905 457 or email montworth@bigpond.com. Scruffy is in foster care in Cameron Park, NSW (Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Scruffy's adoption fee is only $300 and includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
